Description
This small purse from the late 1800’s would have been worn on a chatelaine, pinned to a woman’s skirt, and holding other tools of which she had frequent need (e.g. scissors, watches, needle cases). This is in excellent condition, with all loops attached. Pouch measures 2.25″ x 3.5″ and 6.75″ including chain. Based on advertisements shown in the book “Whiting & Davis Purses: The Prefect Mesh” this little gem is very likely made from German Silver (60% copper, 30% nickel, 10% zinc) and still has a very bright silver color with no tarnish.
